Biography


Guus van Marwijk is a musician from Didam, the Netherlands. Currently he is a student at the Rockacademy in Tilburg. At eight years old he started taking keyboard lessons and at age fifteen he started playing guitar and bass. In 2011 Guus started a new cover band: Spot! After he graduated from MBO-engineering, Guus auditioned for the Rockacademie and started his education there in 2012. There he learned to no longer just play songs, he also started writing and producing them. 

Nowadays Guus is a fourth year student at the Rockacademy. With his coverband Spot! he plays weddings, corporate events and marquees. He is also part of Thomas Pieters’ band, a Dutch singer-songwriter who got them into the finals of ‘De Grote Prijs van Nederland’. Solo Guus plays at Van der Valk hotels and he plays requests at parties and other restaurants. He is also active as a studio- and session player. Apart from his live activities, Guus works as a band coach at a local high school and as a music composer for short films and documentaries.
